World's First Offset-Free Carbon Negative Beer Launch

2023  -  Gipsy Hill Brewing

Working as Creative Lead at Gipsy Hill, I had the incredible opportunity to work on the launch of the world's first carbon-negative beers without using offsets. Working alongside the Head of Marketing and the Social Media and Communications Manager, I art directed the look and feel of the branding for the 2 new carbon-negative beers -  Swell and Trail. The two beers would fall right alongside our permanent line of core beers, which meant they had to relate to the existing branding while also communicating sustainability as their USP.

Crowdfund Campaign

2023  -  Gipsy Hill Brewing x Seedrs

After the launch of the carbon negative beers, Gipsy Hill is on the path to becoming the world's first carbon negative brewery without using offsets.

To support these efforts, investment must go into the breweries raw materials, infrastructure, and processes, so a crowdfunding campaign was launched using Seedrs as a platform.

I created all visual assets that supported the campaing and helped ensure they were all legally compliant with the capital investment rules on the Seedrs platform.

World's First Carbon Negative Tap Takeover

2023  -  Gipsy Hill Brewing x KERB

Gipsy Hill collaborated with 4 breweries - North Brew, Cloud Water, Verdant and Amundsen - to launch 4 carbon negative special beers.

The launch party was held at The Understudy, a bar and food hub ran by KERB at the National Theatre in London. Here giveaways were run, and the beers were poured along the existing Swell and Trail as part of the world's first carbon negative tap takeover.

Brand + Launch of 25+ Beers

2022-2023 -  Gipsy Hill Brewing

A principal part of my role as Creative Lead is to produce the branding of the several beers launched as part of the brewery's specials program. In a year and a half, I conceptualised, art-directed, branded, and art worked over 25 beers, and named over 10 as well.

We worked with several illustrators to produce the fun labels - whom I art directed through briefs reflecting what the illustration should evoke and include. I personally illustrated 2 beers - Drifter and Funkeln (pictures in gallery below).

Briefs would always include notes I would get after meeting with the brewers in order to obtain flavour notes and unique selling points of the beers, which inspire the look and feel of the labels. Illustrations portray an employee of the company as well in order to represent the company's employee-owned element.

Purus Brand Launch

2021 - Purus Alcohol Free Wine

I designed and created all branding assets for Purus, a new line of alcohol-free wine as the product got ready to launch.

This included logo, colour palette, typography, labels, a crowdfunding website, and branding guidelines.

Sustainable Point-of-Sale Package

2023  -  Gipsy Hill Brewing

In the path to become the most sustainable brewery possible, Gipsy Hill took on the challenge to turn the brand's POS into items manufactured with sustainable or/and renewable products.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, we developed 3D-printed tap handles and bamboo bar runners - which we believe are both a first for the industry. Recyclable beer mats, glassware and t-shirts also support the package which is distributed to pubs.

  • Branding

  • POS development

Oktoberfest 2023

2023  -  Gipsy Hill Brewing x KERB

I illustrated, named and branded Gipsy Hill's 2023 Oktoberfest special.

Funkeln was keg-only (meaning it wouldn't be labelled on a can) and was launched at KERB's Oktoberfest party at The Understudy. The look and feel of the branding created had to stand out on its own as keg badges, and serve as support of point-of-sale items, posters and social media assets.

Taproom + Events Visuals

2022-2023 -  Gipsy Hill Brewing

Selection of creative assets produced to promote Gipsy Hill's Taproom events, which existed both on social media and as posters on-site.

Inter.work Campaign

2021-2023  -  Inter.work

For my dissertation in my MA in Applied Imagination in the Creative industries at Central Saint Martins, I initiated and created the visual identity of a campaign called Inter.work - one that raises awareness about the challenges international students face and ultimately seeks to achieve the legalisation of self-employment when on a Student visa.

Covering this subject I've gotten an article published in WONKHE and have received great support from UK universities and their student unions.

Worked on:

  • Graphic design

    • digital + print
  • Research

    • primary + secondary

  • Campaign lobbying

  • Festival display

  • Branding

*Visa restrictions, for years, have created hurdles when it comes to employment for international students, and a major point among the restrictions regards self-employment. In 2023, despite making up over 23.8% of the student population, paying higher tuition fees, and having a gross economic contribution of £41.9 billion to the UK economy, students on a Student visa are not allowed to do independent work and get paid for it. This has opened doors for employers to take advantage of such students by receiving valuable work from them for free.

Additionally, restrictions have discouraged students who had the potential to contribute to the UK's talent with their business ideas and who could've driven positive change in their communities and in the future. The issue has become more urgent now that many EU students, who used to be considered domestic students, fall under the international student visa restrictions as well.

International students should experience the career benefits of engaging in self-employment if they wish, so I decided to address the root cause, that is, the visa restriction itself.

Festival of Applied Imagination

2021 - MA Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries, CSM

The culmination of the Central Saint Martins' MA Applied Imagination ends in a 3-day festival showcasing what the year was about: the efforts, processes, and final works by the MA students.

I co-led the organisation of the festival, held at CSM's main corridor, which was put together by course student committees. Committees covered all aspects of the festival: design, logistics, public relations, events, and curation while a coursemate and myself coordinated all teams.

I oversaw each team while participating in the design, logistics, and PR teams. In the design team, I contributed to the name and overall visual identity of the festival and was a link to the logistics team to everything that had to be kept in mind for the showcase to work.

ReCConect

2021  -  Peer's MA Project Support

My friend began a project where people who have gone through the experience of being an informal cancer caregiver can come together to write and share about their journey. The goal was to create a community group where those who have provided care, love and attention to close friends and relatives going through the many battles of cancer can find a safe place where their experiences can be expressed, recognized, and acknowledged.

She reached out to me to create the branding for the group, called ReCConnect. The goal was to create visual assets that were not a reminder of the negative aspects of the journey, but rather a reminder of the community among informal cancer caregivers and the many efforts they should be proud of as they uplift loved ones through their cancer journey.

Country Doctor 2020 Campaign

2020 - Northwest Polite Society x Country Doctor

I designed a campaign bringing awareness to The After Hours Clinic - a Country Doctor Community Health Center - moving locations. The final creative assets were chosen and implemented in a multiple-medium campaign, including street posters, bus ads, digital and print ads, and social media. These were made both in English and Spanish in order to reach a wider demographic while maintaining a cohesive message and branding.

  • Graphic design

Earth Day 2020 at
Grand Ridge Plaza

2020 - Northwest Polite Society x Grand Ridge Plaza

I designed a range of assets to use in Grand Ridge Plaza's event celebrating Earth Day 2020.

Assets included banners, posters, digital ads, social media graphics, and gifs. But we all know what happened around April 2020, when the big event was supposed to take place (hint: GRP's event did not take place as it would've involved a large gathering of people, no thanks!).

Still a fun project though!
